New Track Eats Up the 28 Team

After recent success at Houston Motorsports Park, the 28 team ventured out to the famed Thunder Hill Raceway in Kyle, TX for a 40 lap feature.

"It was our first trip to Kyle, and to say the least, this place is tricky, Driver Kevin Wiseman says. The D-Shaped 3/8th mile speedway is built down into the ground like a bowl. The track is banked differently in turns 1 and 2 than in 3 and 4, the back stretch has a higher elevation than the front stretch making set up's tough and passing even tougher."

The 28 team had early trouble when a broken push rod was found on the # 5 cylinder leaving the engine with only 7 firing cylinders. "The truck was real flat and had no pick up when I hit the gas" Wiseman says. "Chase Stapp of the 99 team came over and said that the truck sounded odd and after helping us work through the possible causes, we found that the 5th cylinder wasn't firing, Crew Chief Matt DeMarino Reports. "I tell ya what, Chase Stapp is a heck of a guy, it's not too often a crew chief from another team comes over, helps find out the problem, and then shows us how to fix it." Wiseman Says.
